#art of philosophy
Upcycling art with a salty breeze, a sense of humour and a stubborn love for oysterwood barrel rings and sieves.
Hello, you already know the story behind the name La Reine des Carottes – a playful nod to my last name, Rübenkönig.
But let me tell you a bit more about the person behind the crown...
I'm a daydreaming, idea-chasing, slightly stubborn, mostly barefoot Pippi Longstocking fan who never really grew up.
I believe the best things in life are found in nature, at flea markets, and sometimes... in the trash.
I’m a passionate treasure hunter with a creative mind and a wild imagination. I find joy in transformation – taking things the world has tossed aside and whispering, “Wait, I see something magical in you.”
Giving forgotten materials a second life.
Whether it's driftwood, wine barrel rings, or a piece of metal sunbathing in a scrapyard or fleamarket – I see potential where others see waste. I turn the overlooked into the unforgettable, always with love, a bit of chaos, and a whole lot of curiosity.
And then...I met the bâton de palétuvier – the oyster wood of the South of France.
Rough, twisted, full of soul – it was love at first splinter.
So, tell me:
Are you more into wood or metal?
Or are you, like me, just a little in love with the beautifully strange things this world has to offer?
my second love are old kitchen sieves —passoires lamps
proof that even forgotten objects can shine brighter than ever.

What is done with love is done well
